Head Desk/Rant

Head Desk is exactly my feeling for the day.
(And I've only been here and hour and a half!!)

It's been one of those days that everyone wants me to drop everything and do what they want now and don't seem to have any idea about reasonable expectations.

Of course I haven't done task D, you've bombarded me with sixty million other things, oh and I'm lacking the information to complete the task anyway.

Not to mention the work you stock piled for two weeks then gave to me my first day back and wanted done urgently. A little respect and organisation on your behalf would not go astray.

That's how I feel, but no, it is not me.

Anyway, that was my two minute breather. Back to it. :|

China Glaze - Lorelei's Tiara

When I got home today I had a lovely surprise waiting for me thanks to Mr Postman.
My OPI Base Coat & China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara.
I was going to try OPI Princesses Rule, but CG won out purely for the sparkle.

These photos were taken at night, so it's not the best lighting. The bottom photo I tried without the flash.

To achieve the look I used a base coat, two coats of CG and OPI RapiDry Top Coat.

It's got a rough finish as you'd expect with a glitter but the top coat lessens it.
So far I'm impressed and even the fiance likes it.
We'll see how well it lasts though.

China Glaze Haul

Last post for today, I promise.

I was a bit naughty and succumbed to temptation and picked up another lot of bargain nail polish buys from OzSale - again thanks to Mez at Domestic Divinity for the heads up.

 Re-Fresh Mint
 Grape Juice
 Oxygen
 Flip Flop Fantasy
 Watermelon Rind
 Let's Groove
Ruby Pumps

Lots of beautiful new glitter polishes for my collection and some other new colours too... Still waiting for my Essie haul and for some other ones to arrive from ebay purchases too. OPI Princesses Rule arrived today, so I'm hoping to try that tomorrow. I ran out of time today.

On Dulce Candy today she had a post about this amazing nail polish holder she made herself - I so want to attempt to make one. The whole shoe box in the bathroom cabinet idea is getting a bit tiresome - plus I'd love to have them easier to access and all pretty on display. Total project for when I have some money to spare!
For the record, I'd only have like one rows worth of polish!

Augusta Holiday March Long Weekend

It's the one yearly holiday my family take together, each Labor Day long weekend we back our bags and head down to Augusta for a few days.
It's always beautiful, always relaxing and always a good time.

We spent the mornings out fishing and the afternoon reading, playing board games and relaxing.

Turns out I can fish.. I got 8 Herring! ^.^

 Crab!

Me - No make up at all!

Dad the joker - "Biggest fish of the day". So of course that little parrot fish was the smallest.
This skippy was actually the biggest of the day. Dad did so well!
Worn out after a hard day fishing!

The only bad thing about the weekend? It went too fast!

Outfit Post

Last Friday night I went out to dinner with my friends at SteakOut.
Went for a nice but casual look.

Ally top, Supre Singlet, Jeanswest Jeans, Kmart Sandals.

Vouchers Spend Up!

Today is Friday - TGIF! And it's also my RDO.
So amongst the other errands I had to run I managed to get to Aquire.
Aquire is a great local homewares store and they never fail to have some amazing things!

Here are some of my purchases from the day:

David & Waddell Clock from Aquire $35
Mosaic candle holders, $4ea & large silver candle holder $14.95, both from Aquire
Blue noodle bowl, polka dot mug and clear bowl, all $2ea from Kmart.
(Excuse the lack of spalsh backs, we are still attempting to decide what we want!)
Gorgeous decorative plate from Aquire $24.95. The flash has messed the colours up a bit, it's meant to be silver not gold.

I also got a Scanpan pizza cutter for $8 since we're into making home made pizza at the moment - I can even make the dough from scratch!
A nice Maxwell & Williams medium sized square platter for $10 and a smaller one for $7

Another set of cupcake tins and a pie paker from Kitchen Needs for a total of about $38.

So another thank you to all of those who gave us vouchers for our engagement and enabled this spend up! The house thanks you!

New Furniture!

So as you all would know yesterday was the 29th of Feb, or as a lot of retailers were calling it Leap Day.

And to those retailers it was an occasion for sale.

M and I decided to take advantage of this and see if we could find a nice dining table set at Harvey Norman.

We did.

We scored this beauty of a 7 piece dining set for 20% off! We pick it up hopefully today.

The best part is with the money and Harvey Norman vouchers we got for our engagement we didn't have to spend a cent of our own money. It also means we can have people over for dinner (more than just two - our old table was for four people) and also not be embarrassed about the seventies style chairs.  So excited!

Now we'll have all of our living areas nice and modern. Win!

UPDATE!!
Here is the table in our house!
(photo was taken at night hence the shadows and colouring - the walls are actually painted a bright white)
I put that gorgeous glass candle holder in the middle, it will look awesome when the candle is lit. And in the background you can see my lovely photo wall.
